Develop and implement strategic development of a web program to “reboot” an in-house web studio. Currently developing an enterprise level Drupal/html5 platform to replace hundreds of disjointed web entities to create a cohesive representation of the institution and its sub-units. My primary responsibilities are Design, IA, font-end code standards, infrastructure planning, project leadership, art direction, R&D planning, and client wrangling.
Ongoing work as a consultant developing design thinking processes and methods for Weill Cornell Medical College's Enterprise Computing Group (SAP). Identify integration points with the project management office to facilitate custom research, empathy, ideation, prototyping, and testing workshops. By engaging in creative methodologies we've been able to advance the quality and client/user satisfaction in large scale products with minimal impact to scope and duration.
Manage an in-house studio of designers, developers, and a photographer in creating an award wining, best in class web and print program for one of America’s most prominent medical centers. Oversee branding, design, production, standards development, and implementation for web and print materials for the medical college, hospital, and affiliates.
Worked for a variety of not-for-profit organizations on a per-project basis. Developed identity systems, web sites, promotional materials, and publications for a number of arts, educational, community development, and cultural institutions and events.
Assisted Students, professors, and staff by producing professional quality digital output from digital files and original artwork on a variety of media. Managed and maintained a bank of digital photo lab computers, Epson Printers, and Nikon slide scanners. Assisted in light technical support and demonstrated digital file preparation and pre-press processes.
Helped start a web division for a mid-sized custom software firm. Worked on layout and interface design for an early multimedia e-commerce music distributor in 1998, designed and implemented a database driven web publishing application for an African-American media startup in 2000.
Extended program in typeface design at Type@cooper. Studied the history, theory, and methods of typeface design.
Studied Typography, Publication Design, Interactive Design, Design History, and Propaganda Design. Academic interests lie in the application of design as an instrument in social and cultural change, interdisciplinary gestalt theory, historical and experimental typography, and histories of communication systems
